This One is for the Girls!

I marvel at the woman's ability to persevere! As a woman, we wear so many hats and work hard to make it all work!

I am thinking about all the different journeys that women may be walking but the one that stands out the most for me right now....are the ones who are divorced, separated, or just single.  As I have been working really, really hard on learning Excel for my new job with the start date fastly approaching, I was thinking about how thankful I am...

  • that God has allowed the doors to open to have this job,
  • the time I have been given before start date to be able to relearn Excel from years ago (how often does that happen to get so much time before actually starting a new job! that is truly a gift!),
  • as well as, a dear friend of mine giving me access to a wonderful website to learn Excel and loaning her workbooks to me....

.....but I was also thinking of all the gals out there trying to make it on their own!  So here is to making it on our own!  :D   This one is for you....

Have a happy day being confident in whatever you do and ....never giving up!  :D

Great post, Carolyn.

I just KNOW that you are going to be EXCELlent at learning this new program! (Did that pun earn a groan?? :)

Keep me posted on when you start, etc.

I'm currently not making it on my own - but I was at one time. So, I understand how hard a road it is.

So, to those of you who are on your own - stay confident - keep up the GREAT work! After all, God is right there beside you!!

GOD BLESS!

Carolyn, thank you so much for your words of encouragement and prayers. I really do appreciate it and the links you provided. I can tell this is a blog I will enjoy. I have already read the first post you suggested and am letting it sink in tonight and will ponder it more tomorrow before I move on to his next. I am happy you have the time to brush up on Excel before your work begins, I really have very limited experience w/Excel, my knowledge with that has only been as an as needed basis, bits and pieces. I love the song you referenced. I actually heard it this week on the way home from errands and was thinking how it was such a great message! We really are all the same inside aren't we, weather we are alone or not. Bless you, and thanks for the extra encouragement today!

A great word of encouragement for women who often feel they're going it alone. Although I've been married since I was 20, my heart has always been for single mothers. Blessings to you Carolyn. May all that you set your hand to prosper.

Beautiful post Carolyn. I've been facing some life choices lately and have had some doors shut that I really desired be open. It's made me think of you and how you have trusted and waited and worked really hard and I am reminded of your humble and thankful heart. Thank you for speaking to me dear friend. Blessings, Patty

Hi Carolyn,

I read this post the other day and remained silent because it was for the girls.

But you know what? I was drawn back here because I saw you encouraging another to read something I'd written...so I'm praising God that we can encourage one another despite our gender.

I was raised by women, so I know firsthand of the ability of a woman to persevere. There are many obstacles women face that we men are often blind to see. There are physical, social, financial and attitudnal obstacles. Somehow, through the grace, love and power of Alighty God, women go over, under, around and through; finding grace, confidence and victory in Christ.

Women know about abandonment and how it can rob one of self esteem. I am glad that women persevere, because I would not be here if my mother and grandmother didn't.

I am thankful that our Lord opened the door of opportunity for you with this job, and that you have time to prepare before you start.

Blessings and peace.
