Do you remember Betsy McCall paper dolls?
Oh my goodness, I loved them as a little girl! When the postman delivered our magazine,
I was so excited to be able to play with a new paperdoll!
It was just as exciting as receiving the Sears Roebuck Wish Book catalog in the fall and my sibilings and I would drool over the pages,
trying to decide on what we wanted for Christmas and then to narrow that list down.

.....and to print for your little girl or granddaughter(s)! :)
You can go to this link and get all of the paperdolls that have been collected over the years by a special lady in Colorado!
What a treat!!
This particular doll that is featured today was from September 1952.
Her dresses are just like the dresses my mother had made for me when I started kindergarten in 1962! :)
I remember the pretty little red school plaid and also the scalloped bib...
my mother was quite the seamstress!

It was fun going down memory lane with you today!
Have a happy day!

I have vague memories that are trying to surface as I read this post. I started K in '62 also and wore those same kinds of dresses. Memories, huh?
Thanks for taking me down memory lane! My Grandmother took McCall's and every month I could not wait so we could cut out Betsy. I think I still have them in my box with all my paperdolls. Thanks for making me smile! :)
G'day Carolyn ~ Oh, the hours we played with Betsy on the front porch in the summer & on the stair well in the cooler weather. So enjoyed your resurrecting my memories of the good ol' days. TY
Have a great day ~

I had forgotten about those McCall's paper dolls until reading your post. I remember playing for hours with them when I was a child. Thanks for stirring good memories!
Hi Carolyn,
I remember Betsy McCall paper dolls! I haven't thought of them in years. I loved playing with paper dolls. I started kindergarten in 1960, and wore similar type of dresses also. I remember we loved looking through the Wish Book too! I'll have to check out the link about paper dolls...thank you for providing it. :) Have a great evening!
My Aunt got McCalls and would save the paper dolls page for me. I remember how upset I would get if the page tore when I cut them out and would have to tape them!!!!
I love Betsy!!! (and all paper dolls) And that site is so precious!! I would have started school about the same time as you, except that I ended up skipping my kindergarten year. I cried for two solid days until the teacher told my mom I didn't need to come anymore.. that It would be better for me to have another year at home. So I didn't start school til the next year, when I went straight into first grade. (Happily this time.)
