Mom's Clothes Pins

Mom's Clothes Pins

"Just a few more warm days that the laundry can be taken out!"
I am sure that is what my mother used to think as the warm days were coming to an end.
I wish I had a clothes line
.....how I remember the fresh fragrance of the sheets as I would go to bed that night after they had hung in the warm sun all day!
~

Have a warm and sunny day!

Precious reminders! I too remember the crispness and the smell and I long for a line too.

Just recently I heard of a Home Owner's Association suing a Home Owner for putting up a T-shaped Clothes Line. I couldn't believe it.

Whenever I think we are all going forward I realize how much we've truly given up in the name of progress.

Lovely post sweet friend~

I don't have a clothes line any more either...some days I wish I did though. Love the Jack-O-Pot!! Cute!

I love line-dried sheets. I love the fresh smell and the crisp feel. I haven't had a clothesline in probably a good 20 years. Here in Oregon we have too much rain, too many birds and insects, and too many spiders. I actually have a side yard that would be the perfect location but I'd be afraid to sleep on the sheets for fear of what might come in with them.

One of life's great simple pleasures--getting into a bed with freshly laundered line-dried sheets--oh, the sheer joy of it!!

Hi Carolyn,

I remember my grandmother use to have me hang her sheets on a clothes line and (at the time) I thought she was "old fashioned" because dryers were (in my mind) better.

Now that I'm older, I realize that technology sanitizes out things in our culture. I can't remember the last time I saw a clothes pin (thanks for the memory picture). You've allowed me to stroll down Memory Lane to a place I'd forgotten.

Have a good weekend.

Blessings and peace.

Oh I do remember the way the sheets smelled and the way they felt, so crisp and fresh. I had a clothes line until a few years ago. I remember hurrying to get the clothes in if a rain was coming. Thanks for the memories!!

Beautiful post!! I still hang my grandmother's vintage sheets out, over at my mom's because she has my grandmother's 4-line clothesline! My husband made one on a pulley for me like his mom has in Puerto Rico, but I need to find coated wire and not the cloth kind. There really is nothing like that smell. And they feel so good. Thanks for stopping by!!!

I wish I had a clothesline too! We had one when I was growing up, though I didn't appreciate it at the time. :)

I hope you have a nice weekend!

I love the old clothespins and the nostalgia of clothes hanging on the line. Simpler days.
