Gardening

My goodness! I have worked in my flowerbeds this weekend after the granddaughters left to go back home Sunday afternoon and now... ouch! I am so sore!! I feel like I have never worked a muscle in my life and now I am paying for it!

The last couple of years have been extremely difficult years....my daughter and her sweet little toddler living under my roof along with a new precious, pre-mature arrival while her husband/their daddy fought in Iraq ...along with other "extras" in my life as I worked FULL (lots of overtime work) time. As a result, my flowerbeds have been neglected! I worked from 2 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. It felt so wonderful to enjoy the cool spring tempatures with the sun warming the top of my head as I worked away in the dirt! My grandpa was a farmer and he used to say that you feel closer to God when you get your hands in the dirt and work the soil. :) I miss my Grandpa!

It was hard work pulling the weeds and cutting back the ivy but it is so well worth the work! I love the results and I love the flowers! As I get more done, I will post my flower beds! :)

Happy Tuesday!

Hi Carolyn! I can almost feel the soreness - I do this every year. Work til I'm worn out. But I know your yard and flower bed thank you.
Thank you so much for popping in to see me and I hope you'll come back. You have a lovely blog.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

This is such a beautiful vignette. I saw a similar jar at Michael's...oooh I heart it. Maybe next week. Thanks for the inspiration.

Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labor. I agree with your Grandpa. And I agree with you. My hands love working the dirt but my body screams at me when I do.

I worked that hard today. Love it though!

I always say, whoever labeled gardening as "light exercise"... never did any! But it is worth it in the end.
